Weekly Snapshot: The World Owes You Nothing
Credentials don't guarantee success. Competition drives everything. Every unsexy gig is a rep that builds pattern recognition and increases luck surface area. The world bows to proven winners, not potential.
The world is a jungle. If you believe that credentials alone mean the world should hand you opportunities, you're mistaken. Things don't work like that. Competition is fundamental—cooperation exists, but it's a tool you use to win, not the starting point. Both matter, but understand the order.
Every move should take you closer to your goal. It's about staying focused and becoming the best at what you do—better than whoever you're competing against in your arena. Winners control the game, and you break in by doing what they do, as well as they do it or better. Only then do they let you in.
If you're waiting for the world to recognize your PhD or your résumé, you'll be waiting forever. Each small gig, each dollar, each unsexy project is a rep. Reps build muscle. Reps increase your luck surface area. Reps teach you things no amount of planning can. You don't think your way into strategy—you grind your way into pattern recognition. Blind hustle isn't stupid; it's the only way to accumulate enough data to know what actually works.
The moment you decide a job is beneath you and that doing nothing is better than doing it honestly, you've lost. You're building a narrative where you deserve success but the world won't deliver it. That narrative leads to bitterness. Time kills the inner drive of people who believe they're owed something.
Don't let that happen. Wherever you are, deliver the highest level of work possible. Be the best in your domain. The world doesn't bow to people with potential—it bows to people who've proven they're the best at what they do. Otherwise, you're just a number in someone else's spreadsheet.

📖 My Readings
I’m reading Supercommunicators by Charles Duhigg. It has great insights into the human language and human connection. I’d recommend reading this book if you truly want to build a connection with someone solely based on a conversation.
